Eddie Francis discovered his passion for filmmaking at the age of 16 during his first experience on a film set, an encounter that left a lasting impression and set the course for his career.
In 2004, he earned a degree in editing, which provided him with a solid foundation in visual storytelling and an eye for seamless narrative flow. Beginning his journey in the camera department, Eddie honed his technical skills through roles as a camera assistant and operator.
A pivotal moment came in 2010 when he invested in his first Steadicam, a decision that transformed his career.
With 14 years of experience, Eddie has become a seasoned Steadicam operator whose expertise spans live TV, sports broadcasts, commercials, reality TV, music videos, TV dramas, and feature films.
Known for his razor-sharp instinct for framing, deep understanding of narrative timing, and ability to capture the perfect shot, Eddie brings precision and artistry to every project.
His work embodies a blend of technical proficiency and creative vision, elevating visual storytelling and earning him recognition as a sought-after talent. A proud member of SASO (South African Society of Operators), Eddie is committed to the art and craft of camera operation.
